FolkTale Week
FolkTale week is a fun challenge in the art community on Instagram that takes place in November. Each day there’s a prompt and based on that word you create an illustration that’s rooted in fairytales or folklore. I enjoyed participating and using it as an opportunity to work on my visual storytelling and continue honing my style for kids lit.

Childhood Week
Childhood week is similar to FolkTale week but each day you complete an illustration based on a prompt that is connected to a childhood memory. This was the first time I participated in an event like this, and it was especially fun to share the illustrations with family and friends who could reminisce with me.

Drawtober
Drawtober is an event where you draw something based on a prompt every day in October. One of my favorite shows to watch every fall is Over The Garden Wall and one of my favorite games to play in the fall is Night in the Woods. I participated in Drawtober twice, the first time following prompts with an Over the Garden Wall themed, and the second a general theme. There’s a mix of both challenges below.
